The Three Cultures Foundation is organising the forum Andalusia and Morocco. Educating in diversity. The forum is aimed at the general public, although more particularly at Andalusian and Moroccan teachers residing in Andalusia, as well as at various stakeholders in the education system and civil society, along with immigrant communities, especially those of Moroccan origin.
This meeting aims to provide the necessary knowledge on diversity management as a key element. To this end, a series of talks, workshops and round tables are planned so that attendees can learn about multicultural diversity, its benefits, and the good educational practices being developed in different geographical areas.
Specifically, the aim is to highlight the work being carried out by the Andalusian education system in developing an inclusive and diversity-respecting school that promotes educational success for all. It also seeks to provide a platform for the exchange of opinions among experts, distinguished figures from the world of education and academia, and various stakeholders in the education system, where migrant communities, particularly those of Moroccan origin, can express their needs, suggestions, and aspirations.
The school, and therefore education, must constitute a tool to fight against intolerance and discrimination, developing and consolidating a culture of peace that fosters democratic and tolerant attitudes, understood as essential elements of the integral formation of the person. It is about promoting mutual respect and understanding among students and, ultimately, a culture of peace that must extend beyond the classroom, into social life, as a manifestation of peaceful civic coexistence and the prevention of violence and radicalism.
These events are organised by the Three Cultures Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, and are part of the ‘Alqantara, bridges for dialogue and coexistence’ Strategic Partnership Programme with the Moroccan Ministry Delegate in Charge of Moroccans Residing Abroad and Migration Affairs. They also have the collaboration of the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad and the Social Work of ‘la Caixa’.
