The Fundación Tres Culturas will once again organise in Granada the 'Tres Festival. Voices of the Mediterranean', the great gathering of writers and professionals related to the field of literature that already has ten prestigious authors confirmed for its next edition, to be held from 26 to 28 April 2018 (both inclusive) at the Federico García Lorca Centre.

They are Zeina Abirached, Alessandro Baricco, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Mathias Enard, Luis García Montero, Rutu Modan, Elias Sanbar, Leila Slimani and Abdelá Taia (see biographies in the attached dossier), top-level writers whose careers are endorsed not only by critics and the public, but also by the numerous awards they have won. It is no coincidence that three of them have won the Goncourt Prize, the most important prize in French literature.

As in the first edition, the authors will not only come to this event to review their bibliography or present their latest works, but will also analyse a number of highly topical issues. In this case, the main theme of the second edition will be that of freedoms, those freedoms that are currently under such threat in the Mediterranean area: democracy, human rights, freedom of expression, sexual freedom, etc.

In addition to the literary event itself, the Tres Festival will be accompanied by a full programme of parallel activities that will include film screenings, music and exhibitions, in keeping with the multidisciplinary spirit that marked the first edition.

With this, the Fundación Tres Culturas consolidates its commitment to the city of Granada as the European capital of literature by establishing the venue for this top-level, biennial forum, which is organised with the Ministry Delegate in Charge of Moroccans Resident Abroad and Migration Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco. The Tres Festival also enjoys the collaboration of the Federico García Lorca Centre, the Granada Book Fair and the Granada Unesco City of Literature programme, as well as the support of the Granada City Council, the Andalusian Regional Government, the Provincial Council and the University of Granada.
