The WOCMES Seville 2018 Award Ceremony, which will take place at the Teatro de la Maestranza, will be one of the highlights of the Congress.
Seven candidates, including renowned academics from prestigious universities, whose work (in the form of teaching and publications) has contributed greatly to the Middle East acquis, are in the running for the Prize. The winner, chosen by the 86 members of the WOCMES International Advisory Council, will be announced in mid-February.
The event (to which all accredited congress participants are invited) will feature a welcome speech by José Manuel Cervera, director of the Fundación Tres Culturas, as well as a laudatio of the winner by Guenter Meyer, president of the International Advisory Council. After the award ceremony and the speech by the winner, the musical moment will come, which will undoubtedly be the most fitting climax to the event: the performance by the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, conducted by maestro John Axelrod, of the suite Scheherezade by Rimsky-Kórsakov.
Teatro de la Maestranza. 18 July 2018, from 20:30h.
