The Fundación Tres Culturas is collaborating in the thirteenth edition of the Hay Festival in Segovia which, from 20 to 23 September, will focus its programme on Europe.
To talk about tolerance, the Foundation and the festival have invited the writer and screenwriter Hanif Kureishi, who will talk to the audience on Friday 21 September before the screening of the film My beautiful laundrybased on a screenplay by Kureishi and directed by Stephen Frears in 1985. And on Saturday 22nd, he will talk with Peter Florence, director of Hay Festival, about how life and writing intertwine and about Nothing at allthe novel that will soon be published in Spain.
As a result of the collaboration between Tres Culturas and Hay Festival, the voice of Sabrina Mahfouz will also come to Segovia, which has been described by The Herald as "one of the rising stars of new British playwriting" and is shortlisted for the Literary Associations Prize for her anthology The Things I Would Tell You: British Muslim Women Write (Saqi Books), in which she dismantles the clichés about Muslim women in the UK. And finally, the writer and journalist Oliver Guez, who, with his latest work The disappearance of Josef Mengele (Tusquets), won the 2017 Renaudot Prize.
