CARPET (Craft Art and People Together) has the clear vocation of bringing citizens closer to artists, fostering encounters that allow a better understanding of the creative process through active participation. This workshop with Saba Rifat is a journey and a way of meditating through geometry and colour. Saba Rifat starts her geometries from a point from which a central circle is traced, using a compass, taking the circle as a symbol of unity that becomes a journey that unites creation and tradition, going back to the craftsmen and artists of the past. This process in his own words is an art therapy that allows him to find a centre, a place to belong and especially a connection to a higher self.
Essential registration here
The Flying CARPET action offers several workshops throughout the month of October. In order to bring this opportunity closer to the maximum number of people, it is appreciated that each person selects only one workshop, thus leaving the possibility for other participants to register for other workshops, unless all the places are not filled on the date close to the workshop.
SABA RIFAT
Visual artist living and working in Yorkshire, UK. After studying at The Prince's Foundation Royal School of Traditonal Arts in London he explores the geometry present in everyday life and especially in nature, science, urban spaces and Islamic cultural heritage.
In her own words, the visual and sacred language of geometry is at the heart of all her work, leading her to design abstract compositions in contemporary art and murals. Her recently published book 'Geometric Skies' is an invitation for adults and children to enjoy geometry. She currently teaches workshops for a variety of audiences in the UK and abroad.
