The June session of the Cátedra Al-Andalus lecture series adopts a format more in keeping with the summer period. On this occasion we dedicate the afternoon to the music created by the Moors of the kingdom of Granada, with a lecture by Reynaldo Fernández Manzano, former director of the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife. As a complement to this dissertation, attendees can enjoy a concert by the duo formed by Emilio Villalba and Sara Marina, researchers and performers of Andalusian music.

The music of the Moors is the last stage of the music of al-Andalus in the Iberian Peninsula. It is heir to the music of the Nasrid kingdom of Granada, with its famous zambras y lailasIts survival is undeniable in various popular music styles in Andalusia and North Africa.
