The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation is collaborating in the organisation of the open virtual conference 'Human Rights Today, the Challenge of Racism', an initiative of the Makom Sefarad Association and the law firm Veralex.

This is a free training and dissemination event, open to all those interested in the phenomenon of racism and how to combat it, which can be followed from Monday 25 January to Friday 29 via the OTT Interactive Television application. Planet Gala TV.

The conference addresses, from a multidisciplinary perspective, different aspects related to the development of the protection and extension of Human Rights, as a core element of the rule of law, and in particular, the problems posed by racism, intolerance, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, anti-Gypsyism or Islamophobia, and in general the difficulties and challenges posed by multiculturalism and diversity in our changing societies.

It is aimed at professionals in the legal, political, economic and social communication fields who wish to deepen their multidisciplinary knowledge of the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination from the perspective of Human Rights. Likewise, it is also aimed at students of various human and social disciplines who wish to incorporate the analysis of this issue into their training and, in general, it is open to the participation of any member of our communities who, through organised activism or individual action, wishes to contribute to the extension of the elimination of racism.

The speakers at the conference represent the multidisciplinary approach of the conference, with the presence of Esteban Ibarra, president of Movimiento contra la Intolerancia; Gloria Ekereweum, from Mujeres entre Fronteras; María Filigrana, from Fakali and Amuradi, Roma women's organisations; Antonio de Diego González, vice-president of the Junta Islámica de España; Abraham Bengio, President of the Cultural Commission of LICRA France; Ángel Mora Cañizares, Director of Gender Violence, Equal Treatment and Diversity of the Junta de Andalucía; David de Ugarte, founder of the Sociedad Cooperativa de las Indias Electrónicas; Juan Ruz Alcaide, Director of the newspaper El Día de Córdoba; and Mercedes Naranjo, sculptor and painter. Casas and Vera will be rapporteurs of the conference and will formulate their conclusions.

The conference will be held in the format of interactive television with the OTT model, Over-The-Top, the most modern of the free-to-air systems that allows the viewing of content through an app, computer application or on the OTT service's own website.
