Libraries are undergoing a profound change. At the Fundación Tres Culturas we know this and we are working towards a space that is open to the future. For this reason, in view of the summer period, our shelves are being filled with new fantastic and everyday stories to bring us closer to the social reality of the Mediterranean countries, so diverse and often so unsuspected.
From 5 July you can borrow up to 4 books and return them from 1 September. And here are some suggestions for the great voices of Mediterranean literature today: the Greek Theodor Kallifatides, who conquered us with Another life to live and now presents The past is not a dream (Galaxia Gutenberg). The Palestinian Adania Shibli with her hyper-realistic novel A minor detail (Tin Leaf). Three (Anagrama), the intelligent crime novel by the Israeli Dror Mishani. The return to Morocco of one of the most outstanding authors in contemporary French literature, Leila Slimani, with The country of the others (Cabaret Voltaire). One of the great heirs of European humanism, the tireless traveller Maurice Wiesenthal with La hispanibundia: Spanish family portrait (Cliffs). One of today's most potent philosophers, the Croatian Srećko Horvat with his Poetry of the future (Paidós). Or the Spanish artist Paula Bonet with The eel (Anagrama).
As a graphic novel we propose Diario de Italia (Impedimenta) by David B. We are also fascinated by the illustrated albums by the most renowned author of current Israeli literature, David Grossman, entitled The embrace y The sun princess (Sexto Piso). And all this will be accompanied by the music of Ana Alcaide and Oum.
