Throughout history, many peoples, cultures and religions have settled in the Iberian Peninsula. The presence of Jewish communities until 1492 left an important cultural, gastronomic and architectural mark... in many places. In addition to their customs and religion, the Sephardic Jews developed their social life alongside the Christian and Arab communities. September's Film Tuesdays invite us to get to know and delve into our past through this palpable heritage in many places in our country: streets, squares, words, surnames, gastronomy, smells, architecture... An open door to a culture that is still alive today.

Adio kerida (Goodbye dear love)

Adio kerida is a personal documentary about the search for identity of a group of Sephardic Jews. Its title, Adio keridais derived from a Sephardic love song, and its purpose is to highlight the themes of expulsion, departure and exile that lie at the crux of the Sephardic legacy. At the same time, the title invokes the creative energy that is injected into a culture when racial, ethnic and national boundaries are crossed. There is also a personal dimension to the title, and it refers to the desire for reconciliation between the director and her Sephardic father.
