The Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo closes its summer cycle of concerts in the Andalusian gardens on Friday 7 July at 9.30 p.m. with a recital that brings together two groups: the Chorale Casaswat and the Chamber Orchestra of Seville. This performance is part of the programme Evenings in the Andalusian Gardens, which also includes the screening of seven Mediterranean comedies.
The Chorale Casasawt, Created in 2006 under the auspices of the association Maroc en Chœur and directed by the Moroccan composer and conductor Adnane Matrone, it is made up of forty people and works to promote Moroccan choral singing both in Morocco and abroad. Proof of this is Casasawt's participation in numerous international festivals such as Les Choralies en Vaison-la Romaine (France 2010), Nancy Voix du Monde (France 2012), IFCM (South Korea 2014), Prague International Choral Festival (Czech Republic 2015), and Cork International Choral Festival (Ireland 2016).
Its conductor, Adnane Matrone, is a contemporary artist driven by the desire to meet the demands of the constantly evolving musical world, in which he imbues the subtlety of choral singing. He conducts courses for choir conductors, harmonisation in Arabic music and accompaniment of Arabic songs. His solid pedagogy has enabled him to teach both young and old, from all musical horizons. He published his first work on choral singing: "Moroccan choral singing", then "Les Voices Arabesques", a very precise guide on the harmonisation of Arabic music.
For its part, the Chamber Orchestra of Seville also aims to develop teaching and research programmes to disseminate the national and international musical repertoire, and thus achieve the objective of becoming a cultural, pedagogical and social reference through the instruction and practice of music.
Its conductor, Archil Potchkhua, was born in Georgia, studied at the Tbilisi Music School and was a member of, among others, the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra in Moscow. After winning numerous international prizes, he joined the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville in 1993 as viola maestro, where he remained until 2014. As a conductor, Archil Pochkhua is characterised by his unique style, his educational skills and his very broad repertoire, rescuing and recomposing scores by composers who have not been sufficiently valued. So far he has been the founder of three youth orchestras: the Youth Chamber Orchestra of Jerez (1998); the Sinfonietta, linked to the San Francisco de Paula school in Seville (2012) and the Chamber Orchestra of Seville (2015).
Invitations available at THIS LINK from Friday 23 June at 12.00 noon.
