The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation continues its collaboration with the Culinary Diplomacy Festival being held in the Moroccan city of Fez from 27 to 30 April 2017. During this second edition, the Moroccan gastronomic heritage with its three components Arab-Andalusian, Amazigh and Jewish will enter into dialogue with the culinary traditions of Spain, France and Italy.
The common thread of these exchanges will be expressed through the journey of the great Ziryab, founder of Andalusian music and creator of a gastronomic tradition that is still alive today.
In the spirit of this event, Morocco's gastronomic tradition will seek to revive a heritage of great richness and authenticity that remains open to the influences and flavours of the world's different cultures and to a new creative dynamic.
This approach will be expressed through the presence of the famous chefs who will participate in the festival as ambassadors of the gastronomic-cultural heritage of their countries.
The Moroccan chef Najat Kaanache will bring together personalities such as Christian Têtedoie, star of the best chef and worker in France; Stefania Barzini, chef de cuisine and famous Italian journalist; Oliel Makhlou, great chef of Hebrew cuisine; and Fernando Pérez Fernández, the great Spanish chef who runs the restaurant '9 Balcones' in Huelva.
The programme of this second edition of the festival offers dinner-discussions each evening, which will also be preceded by an original artistic and musical creation inspired by Ziryab's repertoire.
There will also be free film screenings every day, exhibitions and tastings of regional products.
