Kahinarte' exhibition

Details

  • Start: 10 September 2015
  • End: 3 October 2015

From 10 September to 2 October, the Fundación Tres Culturas will be hosting the exhibition Kahinartea social action and street education initiative that uses art, audiovisual media and citizen participation as tools for the transformation of the peripheral area of Melilla.

The protagonists of the exhibition are the residents of Melilla's neighbourhoods themselves, mainly children, adolescents and women. This exhibition reflects the work carried out from 2013 to the present day and the numerous activities with the residents, the inmates of the penitentiary centre and the people housed in the CETI (Centre for the Temporary Stay of Immigrants).

This project is supported by the Institute of Cultures of the Autonomous City and includes the organisation of workshops, courses, street events, talks and exhibitions. The team is made up of Francesco Bondanini, Fatima Mesaud and a number of professionals who, on a voluntary basis, bring a quality to the work.

To carry out this task, it has the collaboration of NGOs, neighbourhood associations, public institutions, the Melilla penitentiary centre and IES Rusadir, among others. The main objective is the improvement of peripheral spaces through a participatory methodology that involves residents in the transformation process.
