For several years now, Morocco has been making headlines in both national and international media as one of the countries that has best adapted to the social, cultural and economic turbulence affecting both shores of the Mediterranean.

The political, social and economic reforms that are being carried out systematically in the neighbouring country, together with its spirit of renewal and constant learning, mean that this country is gradually becoming a reference, a model for its Mediterranean neighbours when it comes to managing these processes both internally and externally. The country's firm and decisive commitment to strengthening ties with the EU is well known, not only in economic matters but also in mobility and public policy management. Moreover, the process of advanced regionalisation continues on the path towards a more pluralistic and modern Morocco. Nor should we forget the reforms introduced in the family code and that the current Mudawana represents an unprecedented step forward in Muslim-majority countries, especially in Morocco.

But despite all this, the media's portrayal of Morocco remains, in many cases, stereotypical, inaccurate and biased, often focusing on issues related to the more negative side of the migration phenomenon. The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, the Ministry in Charge of Moroccans Residing Abroad and Migration Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Morocco, have been working together with the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Morocco to develop a new media strategy for Morocco. M'Sur We would like to emphasise this other, less treated image of the migratory phenomenon related to Morocco in the Mediterranean basin.

We believe it is necessary to show what Moroccans bring to the host societies, which of their skills are the most outstanding and what are their experiences of success in different areas in their lives as immigrants. To this end, a seminar will be held on 18 December at the Foundation's headquarters in Seville entitled The view of Morocco from abroad: an analysis of current events in the media The event will be attended by prominent journalists, writers and researchers, above all from Morocco but also from other Mediterranean countries, who will present their experiences, which they themselves have personally lived, or which they have described in their chronicles, books and reports, so that they can serve as a reference and model for other countries, especially those neighbouring the southern Mediterranean.
