The Fundación Tres Culturas, the University of Malaga and the UMA Social Council are organising the 2nd TRESMED Forum 'Communication, migrations and social transformations in the Mediterranean', which will be held from 6 to 8 November at the Rectorate of the University of Malaga.
The forum is structured in different round tables in which the role of the media (both current and potential) is analysed in different aspects related to the Mediterranean and the countries around it, the epicentre of most of the current issues in different areas: politics, economy, events, society, culture...
A number of speakers related to these fields but from different professional backgrounds will speak about all this: professors, sociologists, experts in the Arab World, communication professors and journalists such as Ángeles Espinosa, Awatef Ketiti, Carmen Rengel and Rosa María Calaf.
In addition, the forum has a programme of parallel activities that includes a photojournalism workshop led by two leading names in the field: Emilio Morenatti and Manu Brabo (on the 6th at 6 p.m. in the Rectorate; activity with free entry with no registration required), who will also present the exhibition Borders at the Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País de Málaga (6 November at 8 p.m.).
Admission to the different round tables and forum sessions is free until full capacity is reached, although prior registration is recommended.
