A delegation from the Fundación Tres Culturas, headed by its head of Strategic Planning, Antonio Chaves, has been present at the departure of the first Moroccan seasonal workers who were trapped in the province of Huelva as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
It is estimated that some 7,000 women, who arrived in the province of Huelva to work in the red fruit campaign, were affected by this situation, which was finally resolved thanks to the joint efforts of the Spanish and Moroccan governments.
Thus, after several weeks of negotiations, on 18 July, a first ship with 1,200 seasonal workers set sail, in an emotional ceremony with numerous authorities: the Moroccan ambassador in Spain, Karima Benyaich; the sub-delegate of the Government in Huelva, Manuela Parralo; the delegate of the Andalusian Government in Huelva, Bella Verano; the president of the Port, Pilar Miranda; and the Moroccan consul general in Seville, Charif Cherkaoui.

The Guardia Civil, Port Police, Red Cross, MZC and the consultants and consultations of Interfresa's Ethical, Labour, Social and Equality Responsibility Plan (Prelsi) also took part in this operation, working in coordination to expedite the boarding of these women.
Just before boarding, the seasonal workers received food (mainly water, juices and dairy products) provided by the MAS Foundation, thanks to the collaboration agreements signed with the Three Cultures Foundation.
