The treatment given in many cases to current affairs does not allow citizens to get to know them in an informative way, to go deeper into the issues dealt with and, sometimes, not even to understand them in a clear way. The presentation of some sensitive issues (generally related to issues affecting the Arab-Islamic environment or the Arab-Israeli conflict) can be incomplete and partial, as it is based on stereotypes, prejudices and a great lack of knowledge, which makes it difficult to approach them in an adequate and as objective way as possible.
With this round table, the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation will analyse the current situation in Syria, the causes that have led to this terrible refugee crisis, the latest developments on the Daesh or what we can expect from now on, both in Syria and in Europe. All of this will be presented by the speakers Haizam Amirah Fernández, Senior Researcher for the Mediterranean and the Arab World at the Elcano Royal Institute, and the Canal Sur Televisión journalist Leonardo Sardiña Linde.
