The Human Library is a project that originated in Copenhagen in 1993, where a group of young people concerned about violence created this movement that encourages dialogue to promote understanding through the exchange of knowledge, and thus raise awareness among young people against violence.

The need for human beings to communicate through any medium is as old as man himself and, although it has always been said that the format is the least important thing and that what matters is the content, in this particular case the format does matter, since, faced with the protagonism in the use of technologies, this project arises whose main role is played by people and the relationships that are established with their experiences, without disdaining these technologies and using them as tools to enhance and optimise the human being's own capacities.

From this idea was born the collaboration between the Three Cultures Foundation and the Andalusian Youth Institute for the offer to hold a work camp and its voluntary service for young people, entitled TRUE STORIES, the Human Library as a path to interculturalityPiratas de Alejandría, a project that Piratas de Alejandría will develop in the Almeria town of Purchena during the second half of July.

Twenty-five young people between the ages of 18 and 30 will collect life stories, document and catalogue the first Intercultural Human Library created from a work camp.

The deadline for registration is from 9 to 11 of May through the IAJ's Patio Joven portal, by following this link link.
