The Fundación Tres Culturas is organising a talk-colloquium on the Jewish Holocaust at the Centro de Inserción Social (CIS) Luis Jiménez de Asúa, given by Professor José Cruz, co-director of the Seminar on Holocaust Studies -Shoah- and Antisemitism at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide.
This proposal is part of the programme that Tres Culturas has been developing since last year in the CIS, which has allowed inmates to participate in various activities of the Foundation such as guided tours, the celebration of Holocaust Remembrance Day, film screenings and book presentations.
In addition, various events have been organised in this centre, both meetings of the reading club and talks with specialists in certain subjects. Thus, the inmates have held talks with the professor and writer Waleed Saleh, or with Varda Fiszbein, professor of Hebrew studies and member of the Progressive Jewish Community of Andalusia, Beit Rambam.
The aim is to make the cultural richness of the Mediterranean known to this public, contributing to social integration through an enriching cultural offer.
José Cruz Díaz (Jerez de la Frontera, 1976)
Co-director of the Seminar for Holocaust -Shoah- and Anti-Semitism Studies at the Pablo de Olavide University. A graduate in Law from the University of Cádiz, he has completed doctoral studies at the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Paris-Sud. His most recent publications include several studies on Church-State relations and the legal status of cultural minorities in Spain and the West and the book presented at Tres Culturas Holocaust and Crimes against Humanity: Keys to and Trajectories of Anti-Semitism.
