Summer cinema. Cycle dedicated to Humour

Details

  • Start: 2 July 2013| 22:30
  • End: 30 July 2013| 19:00

Every Tuesday in July, the Jardines Andaluces de Tres Culturas will become a summer cinema, with free screenings at 22:00. In this way, the Foundation recovers the Mediterranean tradition of summer cinemas, so widespread a few decades ago and which, however, has been lost in recent times. It is a programme with a common characteristic: humour.

With this programme of comedies, the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo aims to take advantage of the tools provided by humour to offer a different view of issues that have been treated from a serious point of view in other films.

In this way, issues such as immigration, the political situation in the Middle East or religious violence are brought to the public in a different way, more affable but no less loaded with intention.

At Le cochon de Gaza (When pigs fly)The irony is used to denounce the living conditions in Gaza, whose inhabitants are caught between the Israeli blockade and the social and political control of the Islamists.

Where do we go from here? tells how humour can even fight against religious intolerance, while Khorma, the child of the cemetery does the same by demonstrating that fear of the other and of differences can be overcome. Also on show will be Andalousie, mon amour.

To close the cycle, Almanya. Welcome to Germany manages to put us in the immigrant's shoes, but in an amusing way, using humour and fantasy.
