Coinciding with the celebration of International Book Day on Friday 23 April, the Fundación Tres Culturas is dedicating this month's film series to the influence and collaboration that has always existed between the two genres.
Cinema has been influenced by literature since its beginnings, offering great masterpieces based on titles such as Anna Karenina, Pride and Prejudice or Dracula. Indispensable works of literature that have been taken to the screen by great directors, without forgetting novels such as The Beehive, The Leopard, Les Misérables and Gomorrahwhich have been even more widely recognised by the public after their adaptation to the big screen.
This film series offers current films dealing with the passion for writing and the lives and works of well-known writers from Mediterranean countries.

Just the end of the world (Juste la fin du monde) is the film adaptation of Jean-Luc Largarce's play of the same name.
After twelve years of absence, a writer returns to his hometown to announce to his family that he is dying. During his visit, resentment and conflict are unleashed, fuelled by doubt and loneliness. Any attempt to empathise is sabotaged by the inability of those present to listen and love.
