Every October 15th, the International Day of Rural Women is celebrated worldwide, a date marked by the United Nations since 2007 to recognize the decisive role of women in development, food security, and the eradication of poverty.

To commemorate this event, the Tres Culturas Foundation, through its European project INTREPIDA plus, is organizing a meeting with the Portuguese textile artisan Estela Ribeiro on Wednesday, October 14, in the town of San Nicolás del Puerto, in the Sierra Norte of Seville.

The attendees of this INTREPIDA event will learn from Estela Ribeiro techniques for dyeing wool in an environment (the town of San Nicolás del Puerto) with a great interest in handmade weaving, thanks to the work of a group of local women who formed the group. Entangled, This activity is used by them as a means to create greater cohesion and empathy among citizens.

This free workshop is in-person and places are limited, so it is essential to register in advance to participate.
