On the occasion of the celebration of Andalusia Day, The Tres Culturas Foundation is offering a concert by flamenco guitarist Juan Medina from La Línea de la Concepción. In this presentation of his new work, flamenco dialogues with and fuses with Jazz, new-style soul, and some world music. Another way to demonstrate that flamenco, like Andalusia, embraces the rhythms of other cultures, creating a rich spectrum of nuances and sounds.
Juan Medina He is a flamenco guitarist and composer, recognised for his virtuosity and innovative approach within the genre. Over the years, he has continued to consolidate his career, remaining true to his unique and authentic style. In a career that began with Radio Macandé and later as a solo artist under the name Juanito Makandé, with countless concerts to his name, he has been an influential figure in the evolution of contemporary flamenco. Now he returns with his most personal project as Juan Medina, with his first album ‘Fugaz’, in which he presents a repertoire of his own compositions in this new phase as a flamenco guitarist, alongside the double bassist Gal Maestro and the percussionist Trujillo City.
