The Fundación Tres Culturas and the Vicente Ferrer Foundation co-organise a solidarity concert to raise funds for the 'Bicicletas con poder' (Bicycles with power) project, in which the groups will participate. Meridianos, Montelirio y Port of the Indies.
The Vicente Ferrer Foundation is a development NGO committed since 1969 to the process of transformation of two of the most impoverished areas of southern India: the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The project Bicycles with power The Vicente Ferrer Foundation is promoting the distribution of bicycles to secondary school girls in rural Anantapur to provide them with a safe way to get to school. The remoteness of schools and the lack of security in the area lead to girls in the villages dropping out of school when they reach secondary school, coinciding with their puberty stage, as their families keep them at home due to the danger of sexual assault on the way to school. The bicycles prevent girls from being forced by their families to marry at a very young age as a result of dropping out of school.
From Seville, a group of volunteers have set themselves the goal of contributing to the projects that the Vicente Ferrer Foundation is developing in India, trying to raise funds through activities in which all the participants show their solidarity and at the same time spreading the word about the work being carried out to eradicate extreme poverty.
The Fundación Tres Culturas joins this solidarity initiative by co-organising this concert whose contribution is destined to finance the purchase of bicycles so that thousands of girls in rural India can attend school safely every day.
