On Tuesday 19 January at 6 p.m., the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo, together with Casa Árabe and Alianza Editorial, are co-organising the presentation of Our unexpected siblingsthe latest novel by the great French-Lebanese writer Amin Maalouf.
The virtual presentation will take place on Tuesday 19 January at 6 p.m. via our social networks. The author will be in conversation with journalist Inés Martín Rodrigo, from ABC Cultural.
In this work, Maalouf has imagined a complex and harrowing thriller, with mythological roots, in keeping with the crisis facing the world today. Although written before the pandemic, it is impossible not to find in it an echo of our disorientated times, of our planet threatened as never before (J.-C. P. Livres Hebdo).
In this sense, Maalouf states that "I needed to seek in fiction the hope that I can no longer find in real history. And so these 'unexpected brothers', faithful heirs to the miracle of ancient Greece, were born in my mind".
