Following the celebration of World Public Knitting Day in the Prado de San Sebastian on 7 June in Seville, a group of people from Spain will travel from Seville to the city of Faro in Portugal to meet in the Manuel Bivar Garden with people who usually reside in Portugal, including Portuguese, British, Irish, Norwegian, Indian and others, making a group of approximately 50 people in total.
Representatives of the Faro Chamber of Commerce will welcome you in a garden that is centrally located close to the promenade. Together we will continue the action From Seville with Love which takes the form of a crochet heart that will get bigger and bigger as it passes through the different countries. On the other hand, the artistic installation CARPET hyperlink which was for some time in the Costurero de la Reina in Seville will now be on the seafront in Faro. This installation is made up of links of thread woven by different collectives from both countries.
The visit to the city of Faro will end with a tour prepared by the Faro Chamber of Commerce to learn more about the history and highlights of this beautiful place in the Algarve.
The CARPET project is coordinated by the Fundación Tres Culturas together with the following partners in the different countries: Creative Kernow in England, UK, CEARTECentro de Formaçao Profissional para o Artesanato e Património in Portugal and APDNAgence pour le Développoment du Nord du Maroc in Morocco.
