From Seville with Love. Flying CARPET

Flying CARPET begins its actions in the framework of the celebration of the World Wide Knitting Day 2018, which has been celebrated in Seville for some years now as an impulse from the South District of the City Council and the company Andoliando, through Juana Román.

From the CARPET (Craft Art and People Together) project, the activities that the Fundación Tres Culturas has designed to encourage citizens to take part in creative and social actions are:

Weavers in action

We are looking for volunteer knitters who can spend a few hours and approximately two days with a group of people belonging to collectives who for various reasons are unable to participate in cultural or social activities in the city. The weavers will help to create a link for the chain that we will set up on 9 June in Prado de San Sebastián to mark World Public Knitting Day 2018.

Wokshop free of charge to learn and/or improve your knitting.

Weavers of the heart

The salt dock weavers (#tejedorasmuelledelasal) will be responsible for weaving a heart that will later be continued in other countries until it reaches a size of approximately 1.80 centimetres.

Weavers in love

Activity in collaboration with the celebration of the World Day of Knitting in Public organised annually by the South District of Seville City Council and Andoliando. Meeting of all the people who wish to weave a link to form a chain that will be taken to other countries to continue weaving and that will be installed in different public places.

The CARPET project is coordinated by the Fundación Tres Culturas together with the following partners in the different countries: Creative Kernow in England, UK, CEARTECentro de Formaçao Profissional para o Artesanato e Património in Portugal and APDNAgence pour le Développoment du Nord du Maroc in Morocco. This project is financially supported by the European Creative Europe programme.
