The Fundación Tres Culturas joins in the celebration of World Refugee Day, which every 20 June gives us the opportunity to show our support for the thousands of people who are forced to flee their homes.
The screening of the documentary Shadow Music: the Soundroutes opens the day at 8.30 p.m., which continues with a concert by The SoundRoutes Band & Mashrabiya.
Sound routes. Notes to approach is a project promoted by the Seville-based music agency Marmaduke, in cooperation with Italian NGO A Ponte Per...the Bologna Jazz Festival, and Werkstatt Der Kulturen of Berlin and Koer (Belgium).
The initiative SoundRoutes provides an opportunity for international musicians who migrated to Europe to perform in the host communities in collaboration with other local artists, in order to support their integration into the social and professional environment.
In Seville, the quartet Mashrabiya together with the Syrian musician Muhannad Dughem, is a group that proposes a process of searching for original sounds, nuances and cadences that starts in the Middle East and takes Mediterranean dances and songs on its journey to Andalusia.
At the European level, the SoundRoutes Band is made up of four refugee musicians, migrants from Syria and Senegal, based in Berlin, Brussels and Rome. The band, under the artistic direction of Guglielmo Pagnozzi, has developed a repertoire of Arabic and Afro-beat music. By its nature, this project is supported by the Creative Agency of the European Commission.
Free admission with prior reservation.
