The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, in collaboration with Loyola University, is hosting a programme of activities next Thursday, 2nd December, highlighting the practice of chess. This programme includes, on the one hand, a simultaneous chess exhibition, featuring various game formats alongside the opportunity to play in the company of experts and masters. And on the other hand, it includes the presentation of the documentary project The Garden of Forking Paths, which is precisely based on the world of chess and explores the parallels and reflections between the decisions made in life and the inner workings and choices made on a chessboard. Following the presentation of the teaser, attendees will be able to enjoy a chat with the film's cast and crew.
The Garden of Forking Paths, it is a production by ImaginaSon Medios Audiovisuales, co-directed by Carlos Godot and Juan Carlos Guerra-Librero, and features such prominent professionals on its team as the photographer Pepe Nieto and the composer and sound designer Francisco Cuadrado.
Loyola University and the Three Cultures Foundation are collaborating on this project given the value of this game as a symbol of coexistence and cultural exchange, due to the connection between the practice of chess and the Arabic world, and following the success of various chess tournaments organised with young people in past editions and held at the Foundation's own headquarters.
People interested in taking part in the simultaneous chess exhibition and/or in attending the screening of the documentary can do so via the registration form, which can be found on the project website., https://eljardindesenderosfilm.com/
