The Tres con libros reading club, one of the most consolidated actions of the cultural agenda of the Fundación Tres Culturas, began in 2009 and has been promoting the reading and dissemination of Mediterranean authors ever since.
Over the last few months, the work under discussion has been Accidental spy (La esfera de los libros), the debut novel by diplomat and former CNI director Jorge Dezcallar. The readers, who have already accompanied Dezcallar on his visit to Tres Culturas on 1 December 2021, had the opportunity to continue discussing the intricacies and characters of his novel with the author himself in a videoconference held on 26 January.
After the presentation of Dezcallar by our director, Concha de Santa Ana, a question-and-answer session began so that those present had the opportunity to clear up any doubts they may have had after reading the book. All of this took place in an atmosphere of lively, passionate and constructive debate.
The book presentations and book club sessions are part of a programme to promote the reading of Mediterranean works that includes many other activities and actions, such as regular recommendations of works from the Fatima Mernissi library's rich bibliographic and audiovisual collection.
