The Fundación Tres Culturas and the Institut français de Sevilla, in collaboration with AdN Alianza de Novelas, are organising the presentation of the book The revenge of forgiveness (AdN) by the acclaimed author of Mr Ibrahim and the flowers of the Koran, Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt.
Gifted with a great sense of suspense and capable of creating precise and chromatic scenarios, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt builds in The revenge of forgivenesswith translation by Mª Dolores Torres París, four stories that explore the most violent human feelings. The characters oscillate between revenge and forgiveness, rancour and indulgence, love and hate. "In life we are all exposed to philosophical confrontations. We can decide to forgive, and yet remain indignant with ourselves... Forgiveness, which is so altruistic, is also an act of selfishness, animated by the will to free oneself," explains the author in an interview with the French newspaper l'Est Républicain.
Simultaneous translation from French into Spanish will be provided.
