The Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Morocco, the Cervantes Institute of Casablanca and Norma Editorial, is organising - as part of Morocco Month - a meeting and workshop with the cartoonist Diego Galindo on 14 November at the Children's and Young People's Book Fair (SILEJ) in Casablanca.
The day will begin with a meeting with the students of the Juan Ramón Jiménez Spanish School and Institute (8:15 a.m.), where Galindo will share his professional experience in the talk 'Living from drawing: the adventure of telling stories with images', an inspiring conversation about the challenges and possibilities of engaging in art and visual storytelling.
He will then give the workshop 'Look, move, draw: figures in space'. (11:00-13:00, SILEJ auditorium), a practical session focused on training the gaze and the spatial imagination, discovering how drawing can give life and movement to stories.
Diego Galindo is a cartoonist and illustrator from Seville with an outstanding international career. He has worked for publishers such as Dark Horse, IDW Publishing and DC Comics, and is especially renowned for his work on the graphic adaptations of Stranger Things, Star Wars and Avatar. His participation in this activity offers a unique opportunity for young readers and future creators to learn first-hand about the creative process of contemporary comics and the experience of a Spanish author with global projection.
