The Fundación Tres Culturas, in collaboration with the Institut français de Sevilla and the Tusquets publishing house, is hosting the presentation of the new novel by the writer Éric Vuillard, author of `The Order of the Day', which won him the highest accolade in French literature, the Goncourt Prize, in 2017. He will be accompanied by Alejandro Luque to unravel the unknown episodes of the outbreak of the French Revolution.
14 July tells the story of the real protagonists who were present on that historic date in 1789 at the storming of the Bastille - anonymous people, driven by hunger, unease and precariousness - and reflects on how individuals without rights convulsed an archaic regime to give new meaning to history. And recounting history, the author warns, is a way of looking at the present.
Activity included in the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the 'Tres con libros' Reading Club.
Translation from French into Spanish will be provided.
