The CARPET (Craft, Art and People Together) project presents for the first time in Andalusia a selection of the design works that Ernesto Naranjo has been creating as a result of his own personal search in design and art and his collaborations with well-known designers such as John Galiano in Paris.
On 24 January he presented his autumn-winter 2019-2020 collection at the Madrid fashion week and at the Madrid gallery WecollectClub, where he had a large and diverse audience who were able to enjoy his concept of fashion as something festive, powerful, creative, unifying and artistic.
Trained at Central Saint Martins in London, where he graduated in the Master of Fashion under the direction of Fabio Piras. Later awarded the Alexander McQueen scholarship offered by the faculty. He made his debut at Ego de Cibeles in 2014. His first proposal -christened Limit and winner of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent Award - explored the strange dichotomy between the sky and the ground of the great metropolises. In her latest collection she delves into those women who, like Nevelson or Oppenheim, have revealed themselves in the face of a pre-established code. In this case, that of dress. A combination "In the words of vogue.es and in the designer's own words: 'to create identities and open fashion to different points of view. The idea is to create personalities and women of different ages who enjoy fashion with a motto that I have heard so much from my teachers: have fun'.
The CARPET project is led by the Fundación Tres Culturas and has a partner in Portugal (CEARTE), another in the United Kingdom (CREATIVE KERNOW) and in Morocco through the collaboration of APD. The initiative is financially supported by the Creative Europe programme and European funds for culture.
