The Fundación Tres Culturas, in collaboration with the International Institute of World Music, joins the celebration of the events commemorating the figure of Alfonso X, with a concert by the prestigious French-Moroccan singer Françoise Atlan, who will offer us a beautiful repertoire of sacred and secular songs from the Sephardic and Al-Andalus traditions.
An artist of dual culture, gifted with a unique vocal expression, style and technique, her Judeo-Berber roots naturally led her to develop a passion for the Mediterranean vocal heritage, in particular the Judeo-Spanish and Judeo-Arabic traditions, while pursuing her career as an opera singer.
With a degree in musicology from the University of Aix-en-Provence, a Vermeil Medal in piano and a Gold Medal in Chamber Music, the composer Maurice Ohana encouraged him to sing to perform his Cantigas.
The Foundation offers a concert of Andalusian and Sephardic music in honour of the figure of King Alfonso X the Wise on the occasion of the 8th centenary of his birth, the result of the work of the master classes that the International Institute of World Music holds in Seville, given by this great artist and international singer specialising in Judeo-Sephardic music.
