In 2016, coinciding with the 1,300th anniversary of the capital of Cordoba in al-Andalus, the Three Cultures Foundation, together with Casa Árabe, co-organised a series of conferences which analysed several of the great cities in the history of Islam which at some point became the capital of a kingdom or empire. The selection of cities included Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Marrakech and Fez, among others.
These days, within the framework of the 'Three Cultures With You' project, the Foundation proposes to review these conferences (in which great specialists dealt with the history of these cities, reviewing their urban planning, what they were like in their moment of plenitude or their current state or that of their vestiges), in order to highlight this part of the common history of the Mediterranean.
The second instalment is dedicated to Seville, with the lecture given by Miguel Ángel Tabales, Professor of Archaeology at the University of Seville.
With these interesting informative sessions, Tres Culturas continues to offer quality content to support those to whom we owe so much, our audience, in these times of confinement.
