A sharing of the drawings of Jean-Pierre and Cyrille Pomès. The reader learns about some of the clues to the conflict in Syria through the events surrounding the characters in this work.
The beginning of the story takes place in Daraya, in the province of Damascus, on 16 November 2010, during the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the seizure of control of the 'Lion' dynasty, al-Assad in Arabic. The choice of Daraya as the setting for the story is no accident, as this town, located eight kilometres from Damascus, is one of the most punished enclaves of the war in Syria, both because of the al-Assad government's bombardment and because of the town's sub-siege, where supplies have not been authorised for four years. Text and drawing combine perfectly to recreate the atmosphere of nemperialism, servility, repression and terror that marks life in Syria after forty years under his tutelage.
