The day, which will be held on October 8 in hybrid format, will bring together NGOs associated with UNESCO and civil society voices at the Foundation’s headquarters to share ideas around art as a bridge for encounter and dialogue.
The Mediterranean Three Cultures Foundation will host the celebration of the International Day of Peace 2026 on Thursday, October 8, from 17:00 to 20:00, under the title ‘Creation at the Service of Peace’. The event is organized in collaboration with the group of NGOs associated with UNESCO (AIEP, AMI, ATD Cuarto Mundo, BPW International, CICT, FMTS, OIEC, OMEP, UEA and UNIMA), and transforms the Foundation’s headquarters into a space for sharing perspectives on art and creation.
Recognized as a UNESCO Category 2 Center —the first in Andalusia and the third in Spain—, the Tres Culturas Foundation reaffirms with this day its vocation of being a home open to dialogue, cultural diversity, and coexistence among the peoples of the Mediterranean. From its headquarters on Isla de la Cartuja, it continues to host initiatives that put art at the service of encounter between people from different cultures and generations.
The program includes an opening session with the director of the Foundation, Mar Ahumada; the president of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee, Svetlomira Stoyanova; and Christopher Castle, director of the Education Sector of UNESCO’s Division for Peace and Sustainable Development, in addition to two round tables with testimonies from different countries, a poetic and musical interlude, and a turn of the floor for the audience. With this programming, the Tres Culturas Foundation is reopening its doors to continue being a home for dialogue between cultures.
