The Fundación Tres Culturas, with the collaboration of Alianza Editorial, hosts the presentation in Seville of the book Jokes for militiamen by Palestinian writer Mazen Maarouf, a work that won him the Almutaqa Prize., on Man Booker Arabic. At the event he will be in conversation with the writer Munir Hachemi.

Maarouf, who has lived all his life as a Palestinian refugee in Lebanon and was recently granted asylum in Reykjavik through the International Cities of Refuge Network, tells surreal, unexpected and unforgettable stories of life in a war zone from the not-so-naïve perspective of a child with a wild imagination, mixing, as critics have noted, "the domestic with the creepy".

Activity included in the celebration of the tenth anniversary of Tres con libros.

Translation from Arabic into Spanish will be provided.

Book sale and book signing after the talk.

Free admission with prior reservation.
