Three Cultures Foundation.
29 and 30 January 2014.
The Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo Foundation and the Ministry responsible for Moroccans Residing Abroad, as part of their annual programme of activities, held a meeting on 18 and 19 October 2011 under the title Andalusia-Morocco: Business Opportunities. It addressed topics such as incentives for Moroccan and Andalusian investments in Morocco, business opportunities in the tourism sector, and even success stories of joint ventures between Andalusians and Moroccans.
Nearly two years have passed since that meeting, and considering that the Arab Spring has strongly shaped the social, political, and economic reality of the Maghreb, it is pertinent to analyse the evolution these issues have undergone, which continue to be of interest to administrations, companies, and local stakeholders on both shores. In this case, we will pay special attention to three topics: the financial products offered by the Ministry in Charge of Moroccans Residing Abroad to their fellow citizens currently living in Andalusia; we will conduct a sector-by-sector analysis of Moroccan banking operating in Andalusia; and we will focus particularly on the renewable energy sectors, especially solar energy.
We will have the presence of both experts from the aforementioned Moroccan ministry and economics professors, representatives from the Moroccan and Andalusian Employers' Confederation, experts in the Moroccan stock market system, and project directors from companies with ongoing programmes in renewable energy solutions.
