Tom is the adopted son of two farmers in south-west France. When his mother falls ill, he is helped by Damien's mother. The two are also classmates at high school, where they have a mutual dislike for each other, which often leads to violence. Despite their fierce relationship, Damien's mother and father, who works as a soldier in Central Africa, decide to take Tom under their roof until his mother recovers. André Téchiné, author of Les roseaux sauvages, revisits a story of adolescent self-discovery at the age of 70.
