Abbas Kiarostami, Iran, 1990, 100 min.
Synopsis
A mix of documentary and drama through a story in which a film fanatic pretends to be the renowned director Mohsen Makmalba.
Considered a masterpiece of cinema.
"If you want to see the filmmaker at his best, this is the film you can't miss. In fact, it is considered one of the 50 greatest films of all time. It tells the true story of a man who poses as a renowned filmmaker and tricks a family into believing that they will star in his next film. If the subject matter is good to begin with, the film becomes a gem when you realise that no actors are used. The people who appear on screen are the real family, acting as themselves."
