The Fundación Tres Culturas shows the best of the latest edition of the African Film Festival of Tarifa (FCAT), an independent film festival that has just closed its 14th edition in May, organised by the association Al Tarab and in which Tres Culturas collaborates actively.
Both this foundation and FCAT focus their efforts on the promotion and dissemination of film as a unifying element that tells stories from different continents through different perspectives.

Synopsis
Atlal is a poetic discipline that consists of confronting the ruins and bringing memory, memories from the visible to the invisible, back to life. During the period between 1991 and 2002, when Algeria was in the grip of terrorism, 200,000 lives were officially lost. From old images, shot on VHS, describing the ruin and destruction, Djamel Kerkal proposes to explore the past in order to rebuild the country, the homes and the future, retracing the hopes of young people deprived of prospects. The ruins in the title do not refer only to the ruins of destroyed houses, but to the ruins of a whole country trying to move forward.
