Averroes and Maimonides, the light of Al-Andalus
Directed by Miguel Ángel Entrenas Liria (Spain, 2015, 70 minutes).
Synopsis
Focusing on some episodes in the lives of Averroes and Maimonides, it is also a tribute to the idea of freedom and intellectual independence that so many chosen men, writers and philosophers, had to undertake with arduous effort at times so that, in certain dark periods of our history, the light of reason, of freedom of religion and culture, would triumph over fanaticism and violence. All of this is centred on these two outstanding figures in the history and thought of the West.
The session will begin at 8.30 pm. Free admission until full capacity is reached.
