Cultural diversity: common heritage of mankind
UNESCO in its Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity states that culture is to be regarded as the set of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual and emotional features of society or a social group, and that it encompasses, in addition to art and literature, ways of life, ways of living together, value systems, traditions and beliefs.
Affirms that respect for the diversity of cultures, tolerance, dialogue and cooperation, in a climate of mutual trust and understanding, are among the best guarantors of international peace and security, aspiring to greater solidarity based on the recognition of cultural diversity, awareness of the unity of humankind and the development of cultural exchanges.
Assuming these principles, the Fundación Tres Culturas proposes a month of May dedicated to Cultural Diversity, where Mediterranean music and films made in different countries of the world come together.

Kathmandu, a mirror in the sky

Synopsis
Laia, a young Catalan teacher, moves to Kathmandu to work in a school. There, in addition to the misery, she discovers a desolate educational panorama that excludes the most needy. After contracting, to her regret, a marriage of convenience to legalise her situation, she embarks on an ambitious educational project in the city's shanty towns, although she soon realises that she needs help to make it a reality. At the same time, she unexpectedly falls in love with her husband. Following Sharmila, a young native teacher, she gets to know Nepali society and even herself. Drama based on the true story of Victoria Subirana, a Catalan teacher, born in 1959, who discovered that her work was much more useful in an illiterate country.
