The February programme of Martes de Cine is traditionally dedicated to Andalusian cinema. As in previous cycles, at Tres Culturas we aim to continue introducing the public to a film industry that can increasingly be described as successful.
Moreover, we are talking about products whose quality (the result of a constant effort to improve) is endorsed by both awards and nominations, as is the case this year with the nominations of Carmina and Amen, The minimal island y Born in GazaThe three films have a total of 19 nominations for the Goya Awards.
In line, then, with this thriving presence of Andalusian productions on the national audiovisual scene, the works selected for this year include two films and two documentaries, to offer a more representative sample of the different formats in which Andalusian filmmakers stand out, some of whom, as is the case of those represented here, Paco León and Alberto Rodríguez, are candidates for the aforementioned awards.
