Bartolomeu Cid dos Santos (1931-2008), engraver and painter, was one of the great Portuguese artists of the 20th century. His work plunges into a dark world where he depicts the end of the Portuguese Empire, creating the first metaphors against colonialism. A documentary portraying the artist by Jorge Silva Melo with contributions by Hélder Macedo, Manuel Augusto Araújo, John Aiken, Paula Rego, João Cutileiro and Alan Sillitoe.
