Morocco's many charms attract many production companies, which every year take advantage of the country's assets, such as the diversity of its landscapes and the exceptional luminosity that magnifies the colours. Many series and films are regularly shot in Morocco.

This Moroccan film season proposes a journey through the eyes of current Moroccan filmmakers, who offer us their particular vision of characters, literature, human relationships and ways of life.

Tuesday, 9 November, 20.30 h.

Des murs et des hommes. Dalila Ennadre, France-Morocco, 2014, 90 min.

Who is hiding behind the walls of the Medina, the historic centre of Casablanca? The filmmaker guides us through the narrow streets and even into the occasional home. Most of them never leave the Medina, the outside world only comes through the television aerials. The Medina fires the imagination of tourists, but for its inhabitants it is a harsh reality. A relaxed and honest view of the old heart of Casablanca that still beats strong.

This film pays tribute to the Moroccan film director Dalila Ennadre. Born in Casablanca, her professional life has been spent between Morocco and France. She studied cinema and worked as a production manager on several television series, making films for institutions and public bodies.

Ennadre made documentaries, often about everyday life in Morocco. The filmmaker died in Paris on 14 May 2020 at the age of 53 after a long illness.
