Music is a key element in cinema, which gives meaning to the work and manages to move the viewer, causing them to remember not only the story, but also its soundtrack. The documentaries we will be screening in the July film series are dedicated to this artistic combination of film and music.

Through interviews and images, and from different perspectives, Manuel Calleja takes us into the musical life of jazz in the city. History, festivals, clubs, theatres, halls, teachers, students, parents, audiences, local and national musicians, foreign musicians passing through and settling in the city, cultural managers, journalists, writers, associations... In short, many of the protagonists of the intense life of this genre that has been growing and consolidating itself in our cultural fabric since the end of the 1970s to the present day.

After the screening, the jazz ensemble From duende to swing quartetThe film, made up of four of the participants in the documentary, will offer a concert with the main themes of the soundtrack.
