At the Fundación Tres Culturas we firmly believe that knowledge is the best tool for building a more plural, respectful of differences, tolerant, supportive and just society. BAB'AZIZ, THE SUFI SAGE

Synopsis: Two silhouettes walk through the desert: young Ishtar (Maryam Hamid) and Bab Aziz (Parviz Shahinkhou), her blind grandfather. Their destination is the great gathering of dervishes (members of a religious brotherhood) that takes place once every thirty years. But to find the place where this meeting is to be held, one must have faith and know how to listen to the infinite silence of the desert. On their journey across the blinding expanse of sand, they cross paths with Osman (Mohamed Grayaa), who longs to see again the beautiful young woman he once found at the bottom of a well; with Zaid (Nessim Kahloul), whose singing brought back the beauty he had lost; and with a prince who abandons his kingdom to become a dervish. The desert is a friend of the dervishes, so it will reveal to Bab Aziz the secret they seek: the place of the great meeting.
