During the first fortnight of the month of July, the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, in collaboration with the French Institute of Seville, is offering a new film series dedicated to the debut works of contemporary French female directors.
Under the title ‘French Female Directors. Debut Films’, this programme aims to introduce audiences to two films that reflect new perspectives on modern society through deeply human, sensitive and committed stories. It is a proposal that has helped to discover the talent of a new generation of filmmakers and to reflect on the role of women in contemporary audiovisual creation.
The sessions include the screening of ‘Just a couple of days’ (A Few Days, Not More, Julie Navarro, 2024), a comedy-drama that tackles issues such as solidarity, migration and social commitment; and ‘Hard Shell, Soft Heart’ (Fragile, Emma Benestan, 2021), a romantic comedy set on the French Mediterranean coast.
With this initiative, the Three Cultures Foundation continues its commitment to quality cinema that fosters intercultural dialogue, gives visibility to new creative voices and contributes to reflection on the challenges and transformations of our societies.
The activity takes place thanks to the collaboration of the French Institute in Seville, which has provided access to the tapes through its cultural cooperation and film distribution programme.
